Chieli Minucci, the three-time Emmy-winning and Grammy-nominated guitarist, composer, producer, and arranger, formed the Special EFX band in 1982 with Hungarian drummer and percussionist George Jinda. During the 1980s, as artists of GRP Records, they became one of the most prominent American smooth jazz bands, although their style was much more diverse. Their music is a unique blend of jazz, rock, blues, pop, and world music. Over the course of 40 years, they traveled across five continents, and numerous world-class artists were part of the Special EFX band.
While Jinda passed away in 2001, the album Twenty Twenty 2 celebrates the enduring legacy they created together, which continues to thrive through Chieli's enthusiastic vision and creative prowess.
The vinyl edition is being released by Quality Vinyl Projects, known for curating the highest quality albums in domestic music publishing, and will be distributed worldwide.
